An Agreed Medical Evaluator or AME, is when both parties agree on a physician to complete an Independent Medical Evaluation. Your attorney, if applicable, and the claims administrator may agree on a doctor without going through the state of California’s system used to pick a Qualified Medical Evaluator or QME. The physician that your attorney and claims administrator agree on is called an Agreed Medical Evaluator or AME.
